The Bahrain Grand Prix brought no surprises, Oscar Piastri won smoothly from start to finish in a race that was not very exciting.
Piastri got off to a great start and held on to the lead without any problems. However, George Russell had a stronger start, moving up to second place, not to mention Lando Norris, who immediately jumped onto the podium thanks to a strong start. Not only did the leading group shine, but the smaller teams also made an effort: Pierre Gasly held on to fifth place without any problems, while Carlos Sainz quickly moved up to sixth.
However, the Spaniard could not celebrate for long, as first Kimi Antonelli caught up with him and then Max Verstappen also overtook him. Shortly after, Lewis Hamilton did the same, and although he had a dramatic duel with the Williams driver, he eventually lost. Meanwhile, the second Red Bull was constantly pulling Yuki Tsunoda, and as soon as the tenth lap passed, the pit stops began. We saw different tactics, the last to change tires was Scuderia Ferrari and Alex Albon. After the reorganization, we saw the order of Piastri-Russell-Norris again, but the situation of Haas and Esteban Ocon was much more interesting: the Frenchman, starting from the back positions, was driving steadily in sixth place.
We were well past the halfway point of the race when Charles Leclerc found the pace, overtook Norris and took over third place. Meanwhile, Verstappen's suffering was very visible, as he experienced one of his worst races in recent years. On lap 32, the turning point came: Yuki Tsunoda and Carlos Sainz got into a serious fight, their cars collided, which led to the track being covered in debris. The safety car came out and with it everything we had seen so far changed strategically. Piastri handled the restart of the race brilliantly and after the subsequent exciting fight everything remained as it was, the trio of Piastri-Russell-Leclerc still leading the Bahrain Grand Prix.
It is true that this race will not be remembered as the race of the decade, apart from the midfield battles, there was almost nothing worth recording. The last laps were revived by Norris' agile attacks, the Briton stole third place from Leclerc after long attempts and was also flagged down there. Oscar Piastri won the Bahrain Grand Prix ahead of George Russell and his teammate, which moved him to second place in the individual points standings.
