The former head of Formula 1 has spoken harshly to Lewis Hamilton. Bernie Ecclestone claims that Hamilton is not worth settling in Italy for a long time.
Perhaps it has "some connection" to the traditions of Scuderia Ferrari, Maranello is not a place where they would necessarily be thrilled with Hamilton's silly celebrity-like stunts. Ecclestone argues that it also does not strengthen the Briton's position:
"His contract runs until 2026, but he won't be able to fulfill it. Piero Ferrari brought him there and he thinks he did something good for the team, I hope he doesn't regret his decision. I hope they don't say they would rather not have done it... One thing is age, the other is competitiveness. I think as far as Lewis is concerned, he's actually tired, he's definitely not as motivated as he was before. If he hadn't had a single world title, maybe the situation would be different, that would drive him. But he's already got seven. Another root of the problem is his behaviour.
"He's really done a lot of things that people don't like him for. I don't understand why someone would dress like a world champion and a millionaire, I really don't like it, it's not appropriate. I don't understand why he keeps doing this stupid thing... He's obviously a talented driver, but he's very overrated," Ecclestone sharply criticized Hamilton.
