Hamilton: "I've never turned around..."

Hamilton: „Já jsem se ještě nikdy neotočil…"

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

Lewis Hamilton insists he should not have spun on the first lap of the US Grand Prix due to a driver error. The seven-time world champion attributes his crash to a technical fault.

After the race, Hamilton expressed his opinion and demanded a more thorough investigation by the team. Not only did the developments not work, but the car was even worse than before the four-week break:

"I had a similar situation in the first practice session where I spun at Turn 3. It happens extremely rarely, I've never spun at this track before. You can see George Russell was struggling with it on Saturday too, but he went back to the previous specification, so it could be a problem with the new development package. The car is constantly jumping, so if I don't spin at Turn 3, or not this lap, it would happen at another corner, or at another time. There was something wrong with the car, I've been suffering all weekend. I've never spun in a race in my life. It's not because of a lack of concentration, it's because the technique is not good. It's frustrating, but that's it, I'd rather focus on getting back in the car on Friday," Hamilton said sadly.
