Lewis Hamilton feels that after four races he has finally found harmony with his car, from now on everything will be different and the results will come.
The seven-time world champion's problems with the red race car are also due to the fact that he has not yet "completely let go" of Mercedes and its habits:
"Now I realize that we can really get stuck in our habits. I drove a car for a long time in one team, and now I'm in a completely new car that requires a completely different driving style and setup."
For example, the engine brake works completely differently, the brakes also work differently, I used a different type than at Scuderia Ferrari. Here we use Brembo, while at Mercedes I have been driving with Carbone Industrie for the last 15 years. This car requires a completely different driving style, so I have to adapt. And I am doing that, I am adapting and I think I am starting to feel how to drive this machine.
Charles Leclerc, for example, can manage weekends with one set-up, while I try one after the other, and that puts me at a significant disadvantage. That’s why my performance is inconsistent, I simply have to do a better job, and I will do that. At the moment I’m making things unnecessarily difficult for myself, but next race I’ll try to open a new chapter, start with one set-up and stick with it. I think I’ve figured out what I need to be competitive, and if I apply that, I’ll qualify better, and if I qualify better, I’ll have a much better weekend!” - Lewis Hamilton positively declared.
