"I've spoken to Daniel a lot before, and I'll always have a lot of respect for how he handled it. From the beginning of the whole ordeal, from the first gossip to the confirmation that I was coming in his place, he never said a single bad word about me, not even behind my back.
He never saw it as about us, and he was right, because we don't decide our fate. It was up to the team, and he treated me very correctly the whole time. And as soon as I managed to get a contract with Red Bull Racing, he was the first and only current or former racer to congratulate me on it. That says a lot about the kind of person he is!" - Lawson praised his colleague very seriously.
