Helmut Marko and his team pulled off another typical Red Bull Racing stunt this week when they fired Liam Lawson after just two races. And it's not just the driver who's unhappy about it.
But neither does the team's icon, Max Verstappen. Verstappen has previously made it clear that he is not happy with his situation at RBR, and perhaps this will be another impetus for him to go in a different direction...
"We are aware that Max is not happy now. But he must also understand that we need two cars, not only for the constructors' championship. Rather, to help him win another world championship. Strategically, we need the presence of both our cars at the front of the field, we hope that Yuki Tsunoda will live up to our expectations. Yuki comes in good form, and if he can do it here, it will be beneficial for Max. We did not choose him before because he was not balanced enough. But Lawson collapsed under pressure, got into a negative spiral and could not get out of it. He found himself in a situation like a boxer being counted on. We were wrong not to see this weakness of his earlier." - said Marko, who probably added to the "gossip" about Verstappen and Aston Martin.
