Mercedes: Schumacher has finally retired

Mercedes: Schumacher definitivně odešel

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

This is the end of Mick Schumacher's Formula 1 dreams, the young driver has now officially severed almost all ties to his last refuge, the Mercedes team.

The young German practically declared that his F1 dreams were over, he no longer intends to play the role of reserve driver in the team from the end of the year, he completely envisions his future career in the WEC (World Endurance Championship):

“I am very grateful to Toto Wolff and the entire Mercedes-AMG Petronas family for welcoming me over the last two years, for giving me an insight into the team’s work. Without a doubt, this opportunity has made me a much more experienced racer, I have learned more about the engineering side of racing, but at the same time it has been a difficult and painful time for me. It is a bad feeling to just watch these cars and not race them, it is hard to digest, so I had to act. In the future, I would like to focus 100% on racing and fully commit to the sporting side of motor racing. As a driver, your goal is to always be on the track and prove it, because we all crave that feeling.” – Mick Schumacher, who is heading to Alpina, provided an insight into the background of his decision, for whom only the arrival of General Motors in 2026 could mean hope.

Or not...
