These days, many people are "expertising" Liam Lawson's poor performance at the start of the season in various ways. However, Giancarlo Minardi, the former team principal, does not share the public opinion. He believes that Lawson is not responsible for his performance.
Rather, it is Max Verstappen who, in addition to his undeniable successes, has made Red Bull Racing the "head". Verstappen is the centerpiece on which everything is built, and therefore it is very difficult to stand out:
"The problems at Red Bull that cause one driver to underperform are not what most people think or suggest. As Verstappen's teammate, everyone starts with a huge handicap, and not because the Dutchman is so incredibly good. It's more that everything, every last screw, is set and adjusted for him, and all his previous teammates suffered from that. And Liam Lawson can't handle that now either. It simply shouldn't be allowed in an optimal situation, but Max already has so much power through his successes that he can easily enforce it," the Italian veteran defended the young Lawson.
