Juan Pablo Montoya rarely speaks, but when he does, it's always for a good reason. This time was no different, as he couldn't keep quiet about the performance of former F1 driver Carlos Sainz.
The situation that Montoya commented on is not just about one person, as Franco Collapinto, who entered Formula 1 as a comet, is also significantly involved. The Colombian racer did not forget him and included him in his statement:
"If I were Christian Horner or one of the Red Bull bosses now, I would immediately go to Williams and tell them that if they are happy with Colapinto, let them keep him and release Sainz to us. Franco would also benefit if he did not immediately encounter a challenge like Max Verstappen. He would perhaps represent an even greater risk than Sergio Perez. He has experience, he has victories, he knows the conditions. But let's remember what happened with Alexander Albon, how he collapsed... And here comes Carlos Sainz. It would be a challenge for Verstappen, a huge boost in the constructors' race, and they would also do well financially with him.
"In Horner's place, I would choose Sainz, not Collapinto," said Montoya, probably from the hearts of many fans.
