Juan Pablo Montoya believes that he talks too much about Kimi Antonelli and that much more should be said about Isack Hadjar, who clearly outperforms the youngster from Mercedes with his performance.
Many already consider Antonelli to be a record holder, which is true in many ways, but it's all down to his youth and Mercedes' competitiveness rather than his undeniable talent. Montoya sees that too, but he says there's a brighter star in the F1 rookie sky:
“I think Hadjar is still by far the best among the young drivers. Gabriel Bortoleto is also a skilled driver who had very strong qualifying but didn’t do anything special in the races, but he still beats Nico Hülkenberg.
I miss something about Kimi Antonelli. He wasn't bad, but I thought he would beat George Russell in Bahrain, but that didn't happen. He didn't even get close to him, he didn't do a good enough job. What he does is very rhapsodic, he breaks the floor, he makes a lot of mistakes, but he controls the situations he messes up very strongly. We only saw Isack Hadjar make a mistake once, during the opening lap of the first race of the season, since then he has been giving concrete performances. And I think that sooner or later it will catch the attention of Red Bull Racing,” - reflected the pilot who has won more than seven Formula 1 races.
