It was not an easy weekend at the Australian Grand Prix, but McLaren and especially Lando Norris managed to win with exemplary professionalism, not letting go of the chance for victory for a moment. Woking does not hide that they expect similar successes in the future...
This was expressed by Lando Norris, who declared: 2025 will be the best McLaren, whoever wants to be world champion must beat them:
"We know very well that we still have a lot of work to do on this year's car. We can't get carried away, if we give in in this situation, we will lose, if we think that everything is fine, they will beat us. We will not do ourselves this favor!"
On the other hand, we see and feel that this year we are the favourites, the team has done an amazing job, our car is literally flying. But we are aware that there will be races where we will also do worse. For example, if the season had opened in Bahrain, I don’t think we would have won... But it is true that this year we will be the team to beat if someone wants to fight for the world title. We have two drivers at the front who will be chasing each other, and Oscar Piastri will not do us the favour of making mistakes very often. We were already strong in qualifying because we motivated each other and constantly accelerated and squeezed the last tenths out of the car. So, the car is good, but our team is also very strong, and this is just the beginning,” Norris pointed out.
