"If they curse at me, I will boycott English events"

"Pokud na mě budou nadávat, budu bojkotovat anglické akce"

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

Not everyone was happy for Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing at the national presentation at London's O2 Arena. Perhaps it's understandable that the four-time world champion is not too happy about it and would boycott similar events in the future...

It was soon clear from Verstappen's face that he wasn't too impressed by the London circus, and Jos Verstappen also revealed that based on the audience's reaction, his son was disgusted by the whole event:

"Personally, I would describe what happened to Red Bull Racing as shameful. This event is about popularizing Formula 1, and yet one of the greatest champions is being booed... Max told me that he doesn't want to experience this again, and if such an event takes place in the future - if it's in England - he certainly doesn't want to participate. The truth is that I have to agree with him. He does it all for the sport, he was there to serve the spectators, and of course to show off the colors of the car. But when you encounter such circumstances, then the question arises: Why did I come here? And that it was the last opportunity." - Verstappen's father interpreted his son's dissatisfaction.
