It looks like Formula 1 could take inspiration from the Brad Pitt movie for an interesting innovation.
Anyone who has ever been to any motor racing event will have seen teams manually returning their cars to the pits, both during scrutineering and from the parc fermé. The same goes for the pit stop training, which usually takes place on Thursday during F1's media day. Here, the mechanics are divided into two groups, one group simulating the arrival and pushing the car in, while the other changes the wheels and the front nose. In the Brad Pitt film, these scenes were filmed with a replica of the car equipped with electric assistance, which was specially made for this purpose. Pitt has now said that the teams envy his idea and are now considering installing an additional battery that would be equipped only for these pit stop training sessions. This would reduce the need for manpower and make the simulation more realistic due to the higher arrival speed.
An interesting concept that could double the film crew's place in Formula 1 history / PITTstop :) /?
