George Russell always thought that on the other side of the Mercedes box was the best racer in the world, against whom, if he could prove it, he could one day become world champion.
Now Russell is here to make that promise come true for himself. He's been consistently beating Lewis Hamilton for two seasons now, so in theory, all he needs is a competitive technique to complete his mission:
“I am fully aware of the role that the team assigns to me as a more experienced racer. In 2025, many great young drivers are coming to Formula 1, and in moments like these you realize that - even if you are not old - you are no longer young. My career has entered a new chapter after I closed the first phase, and now I am moving on to the next. When Lewis Hamilton started winning countless championships, he was already older than me, and now it is up to me to follow his example. I feel that I am going in the right direction, I am ready to take on the role that is assigned to me. The essential thing is to be as fast as possible, and I feel that way.” - George Russell spoke about his goals.
Can you imagine Russell as a world champion?
