The 2025 racing season hasn't even started yet and George Russell could already be the first at something. There's a good chance he'll be the one the FIA makes an example of with its new rule on swearing.
The Mercedes driver was left speechless on the first day of Bahrain testing, saying "Oh shit, the lights went out" during a power outage that disrupted the day's programming, according to streaming service Viaplay.
This has already put him in the crosshairs of a new regulation that is investigating whether he has caused moral damage to the FIA, the organization's reputation, its members, officials and the entire automotive/motorsport world in general. This is ridiculous! If the accusations stand, Russell's small mistake will cost 40,000 euros. If he swears on other occasions, it could rise to 120,000 euros, and then points deductions and possibly a month's ban will come. On this basis, Yuki Tsunoda and Max Verstappen would not even have to start 2025...
