Ralf Schumacher, who works as a pundit for Germany's Sky Sport F1, doesn't understand the hysteria surrounding Hamilton. Looking at the test results, he sees it as a strange contradiction:
"You can't expect great things from him. According to the most optimistic estimates, he is three to four tenths behind, but it is true that it is not a tragedy yet. Maybe he still has to get used to the car, to the new situation, something like that... What is happening now is the equivalent of an earthquake, everyone is looking at him as a messiah. He is a seven-time world champion who has obviously changed teams because he wants to fight for the championship again. Theoretically he will be able to do it, but I am quite sure that it will not happen in his first year. I think whoever expects that from him is living in a dreamland. In the meantime, if Charles Leclerc is consistently better than him and stays that way, it is quite clear that this is the end for Lewis Hamilton, he has already passed his peak. And we all know that Scuderia Ferrari are not very patient with unsuccessful drivers... So in the end, Ferrari could be the team that bury Lewis's career. The same could be true the other way around if Lewis Hamilton beats Charles Leclerc. But "I see few chances." - Ralf Schumacher thought.
