Yuki Tsunoda's situation has changed dramatically from a few days when he had a chance to succeed, today, as Red Bull Racing openly declared that they would let him go.
This statement was made by none other than Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing team principal, whose word carries weight:
"We are fully aware that if we cannot give him the opportunity to progress then I really don't see the point in keeping him. We couldn't get him into the parent team and we can't afford to keep him in our junior team for many more years. We have to let him go at some point so he can look for better opportunities. Of course, we cannot rule out the possibility that he could still have a chance to progress, as well as the Racing Bulls being more competitive than in previous years."
I spoke to Yuki, he accepted it, stayed motivated and wants to show that he is the guy who can get the most out of RB. What we do is support them technically, next year they will get our rear suspension and gearbox. I believe that the team will develop, mature and things can change very quickly… For example, would anyone think that in less than a year Liam Lawson will be our driver in 2025? That is the kind of job and he is aware of it, he knows that he has to show that he can be relied on.” - said Christian Horner about Yuki Tsunoda.
If we were Tsunoda, we wouldn't even stay with this team until tomorrow...
