The FIA president is still not giving up on the idea of "cleaning up" communication between drivers. And if penalties fail to achieve this, encryption may come next.
While radio has provided many unforgettable moments for motorsport fans, such as the classics by Kimi Räikkönen and the performances of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, the FIA is waging a war against both common sense and humor, with anyone who uses profanity on the radio set to lose points from 2025. And that's still not good enough for Mohammed Ben Sulayem, who wants to exclude viewers from the aforementioned experience and encrypt radio conversations.
"Should we disconnect from live radio communication? There are such efforts. We are working on many things with the involvement of promoters. No one should forget that we are still the owners of the championship, we will determine the direction we will take," said the sports director.
We don't want to look inappropriate, but doesn't someone finally want to clean up this leadership from the FIA?
